The Walk

26086.jpg

As I walk along this path so dark

I have to look back on my life in part

So many decisions that have been made

So much time was wasted most in vain

I wonder through in fleeting dreams

Never finding of myself it seems

Along this path I have met a few

But the journey always leads back to you

My heart’s grown cold as none can see

The shadows that hover over me

Your kiss so sweet but bitter still

To be gone from me you never will

In a time so dark and emotion high

Your thoughts they cloud my mind

Why have you cast this spell on me

When you never will be mine

Your gift it rushes through my veins

Like a wild and raging sea

Why curse me to unending life

When you have no need of me

So once again I walk this path

Of a life which will never end

Searching. Seeking of self and worth

On the chance you may come again
